U7 & U9 – Welcome Back

We are excited to be back to offer our U7 and U9 programs for the 2024/2025 season. There will be currently will not be any U11 teams with SV Minor Basketball as former coaches have begun their own U11 club.   There are some changes this year that we would like for you to be aware of.   We will once again be running the Jr. NBA program for our players.  We have gone with a smaller package which comes at a lower price to you as parents while still providing the kids with a proper size game ball and a Jr. NBA branded reversible jersey as well as a year end party from Subway.  It also provides mandatory training for our coaches and an age appropriate curriculum that is easy for them to follow and use to help teach your children the skills of basketball while they learn to love the sport.

Canada Basketball now requires all registered organizations, including Basketball New Brunswick (BNB) and therefore SV Minor Basketball (SVMBA), to use the RAMP registration for registrations and programming going forward.  This will ensure everyone is on the same page and insurance can be moved from season to season as necessary.  This means a few things for you as parents:

  • -a new platform to create a profile and players under
  • -you will select the program that best suits your child and fill in the necessary information.

The biggest difference this year is that you will end up making 3 payments for your players basketball: $9 to BNB, $12 to Canada Basketball for insurance and registration,  then the SVMBA Fee $69 for U7 and $84 for U9; the total fees would end up being $90 for U7 and $105 for U9.  We are unable to make any changes to this and the fees must be paid this way.  There will still be a 10% discount for multiple family members in the program. We will continue to offer (as in previous years) a 50% discount for one child to our coaches as a thank to them for the hard work and dedication they put in each season.

We will have the registration system open within the next day or two as we wait for just a few more things from BNB and Canada Basketball.
